AmpMonster News Oct. 30, 2005: Sound Reinforcement and Backline for Spot Barnett Benefit
Publio and Friends jamming as part of the Spot Barnett Benefit at the Blanco Ballroom Oct. 30th. Other acts included SA Blue Cats, Randy Garibay and Cats Don't Sleep, and Sauce Gonzales and the West Side Horns. Saxophonist and San Antonio music legend Spot Barnett has been having back problems and is scheduled for spinal surgery.
Ampmonster Sound Company provided sound reinforcement as well as a '59 RI Bassman, '80 TS-808, '71 Twin Reverb, '64 Super Reverb, '62 Bassman head and Bassman 135/Genz Benz 2 x 12 cabinet. Big THANKS to Urban Urbano for guidance, help and providing Ampmonster the extra gear to make this an extremely successful and memorable event.
Mike Davis presents Spot Barnett with the San Antonio Blues Society Lifetime Achievement Award. Barnett's stellar career included stints as the band leader for Ike and Tina Turner and Bobby "Blue" Bland.
